Classical music is definitely my number one influence for electronic music, and here is a list of some of the best classical composers. I've linked to their Wikipedia articles. Also, next to the link in brackets I put one of my favourite pieces by each composer, so if you're looking into listening to any of them for the first time, these should be some of the pieces you should try.

Aphex Twin, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, EOD, impakt, Luke Vibert, Boards of Canada, Ween, Plastikman, The Tuss, The Pretty Things, Léopard & moi.

Soundcloud - Great for a musician or sound designer of any sort if you want to show your work to the world.
Citysounds.fm - A music website that aggregates tracks off Soundcloud and sorts them by city.
Vintage Synth Explorer - Into synthesizers? This is your number one resource, including samples of many famous synths!
allmusic - You can find reviews that are (usually) accurate about almost any band that has an album released.
Pandora Music Project - Looking for new music? This site helps bring you closer to your favourite genres.
Craigslist - If you're looking on purchasing some inexpensive used music equipment, Craigslist is definitely the best resource. I've found amazing deals on everything from Minidisc recorders to synthesizers in excellent condition!!
